Now on Trove: Channel Recommendations

We’ve heard some great feedback about Trove’s Channel Finder: the set of boxes at the top of the page, programmed by our editors, that helps to highlight new and (hopefully) intriguing channels on the site.

Now, we’ve added another layer to help you, the user, discover channels to add to your personal collection: recommended channels.

Let’s say you’re confronted with the channel pair pictured above, pitting Miley Cyrus against Nirvana. (We put this one up based on that viral video in which Ms. Cyrus takes a swing at “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”)

For our editor, who had a poster of Nirvana up in his college dorm room and thinks Miley Cyrus sounds as appealing as a turkey gargling broken glass, the choice was easy.

And the recommendations he was offered were a great fit: the channel for late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, the Rock & Pop channel, and channels devoted to other musical acts: AC/DC, Bruce Springsteen and Flaming Lips.
